LUCKY AFRICA, UNLUCKY AFRICAN



The above captions has said it all but I just want to let the majority of my African brothers and sisters know that when we are talking of the most favoured continent in the world and if I am not being political in nature it will be Africa.  I am saying this out of the abundance of everything the nature has endowed the continent with.  Ranging from human to natural resources.  There is no African country that is not synonymous with one resources or the other with which should have ordinarily tapped into and used for the betterment of the inhabitants of that particular country.

We are lucky in Africa because God has given us too many resources which we should have used to better our lives and at the same time which should have made us cynosures of all eyes in the comity of nations.  Our land is so fertile to the extent that Africa suppose to be the food basket of the entire universe  like my country Nigeria, there is now place where you can not plant and it will grow very well and not only that we can grow all year round.

 

We are lucky in Africa that the natural or let me say some man-made disasters being witnessed by the developed countries have not been happening here in Africa.  I am not saying there are no natural disasters in Africa but compare to the developed countries, Africa have been less-disaster ravaged.  We are also very lucky of the kind of people who have been inhabiting Africa because we are hardworking and strong race.  Africa is also lucky to be the cradle of civilization and history has proven that to be true.

BUT Africans have been very unlucky due to the kind of the people who have been ruling us.  Though as I mentioned earlier that natural disaster have been very in Africa than other continent in the world but the disaster been experienced by each and every African today is more than Typhoon, Tsunami, Tornado, Hurricane, Earthquake, Tremor and ocean surge.

Africa is blessed with good and sound people but the few elite who are opportune to be at the helm of affairs of managing our resources have been nothing less than the disaster mentioned above.  They have turned the resources that should have been used to the betterment of all to their personal pockets becoming even richer than their country.

We are very unlucky in Africa that our rulers don’t regard us as human being anymore.  Majority of them lives in affluence neglecting the people to whom they sworn to be serving.  It has become so bad that many Africans countries now despite vast natural resources they are endowed with now live on grants from the West.  The purported natural resources that suppose to be our blessing have now become a curse.

Certain African countries have become a no-go area since they have been ravaged by wars which have completely dwarfed them.  Some have even been dubbed as ‘the worst place to be born’.

I am not using this write up to demean or ridicule Africa because this is Africa is my Africa but I am just letting us know how we have been destroying our heritage ourselves and that we can still salvage her from total collapse by seeing ourselves as human being.

Will People Stay At Home to avoid Covid19?

Late last week, President Muhammadu Buhari announced the easing of the lockdown which was put in place majorly in Lagos State, Ogun State and Federal Capital Territory, Abuja  This was done to curtail and bring to a halt the spreading of corona virus popularly called COVID-19. This lockdown were also in place in almost every state of the country except few. This lockdown is to ensure the flatten of the curve of the virus . In the run up to the easing of the lockdown, there were hues and cries from the citizens, most especially the vulnerable ones who makes their living on daily basis, that the longer the lockdown, the longer they face with economic crisis as many are now begging for help to eat in a day.  In the same vein, the Federal government also put in place some sort of palliatives to ease the lockdown in which money, foods and other items were distributed to the people. ‘Who presidential documentary epp?’

On Christmas Day, I stumbled on an interview given by the Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina. Although it was a fairly lengthy interaction with the presenters of Sunrise Daily on Channels Television that morning, two things that the presidential spokesperson said amplify the fault with the President’s communication. Confronted with a front page report quoting the National Bureau of Statistics as estimating that eight million Nigerians had become unemployed between January 2016 and September 30, 2017, Adesina suggested that Nigerians should be grateful that the administration allowed the NBS do its job. He indicated that being an agency of government, it was possible for the President to have breathed down on the NBS and stopped it from presenting those damning statistics.
