NNAMDI KANU'S ADVENTURES: A wasted efforts
NNAMDI KANU'S ADVENTURES: A wasted efforts
I have been following Nnamdi Kanu issues with keen interest since it started, but I have a total different perception to his aborted dream. I felt so sad for the poor guy because of the way he went around with his secession agenda and the fallout of the whole brouhaha. Like I said I have a different perception to it and I can say that Kanu should have been our best shot at leadership in this country as far as I am concerned youth-wise if only he applied common sense. Its a pity that common sense is not common.
Mr. Nnamdi Kanu to the best of my knowledge during his short-stint struggle enjoyed one of the massive following I havent seen for years in Nigeria, his followers are YUGE! Apology to President Donald J. Trump. The only people capable of Kanus following in Nigeria are the penterascal, sorry Pentecostal pastors with mega churches in the country. I can authoritatively say that apart from President Buhari who is enjoying cult-like following in the Northern Nigeria, the next person is Nnamdi Kanu. No other politician in the South East can boast of the kind of followers Nnamdi Kanu have.
This man after seeing that there is no way he can defeat the might of the Nigerian government should have changed his struggle style to that of intellectual by either joining an unknown political party or establishing his own to pursue his struggle intellectually. This move cum his massive followers would have paved way for a shift in the political landscape in the South East where he is holding sway and by extension would have spread to other parts of the country.
I would not have any doubt on my mind that by the next election, that Kanus party would enjoy easy ride over other parties by teaching them the political lessons of their life. I would not be surprised if he wins every elective posts in the entire East, whereby he can start to correct every anomaly that has been the hallmarks of his struggle. With this move, the current regime will be left with no option than to sit with him at the roundtable.
Had Kanu followed this aforementioned route, it would have paved way for other youths from other regions to also put their hat into the rings politically. Every time I remembered the step-by-step of Mr. Kanus adventures, it makes me sad that the young man just wasted so much time, wasted a lot of energy, wasted a lot of resources, wasted a lot lives for NOTHING!
Furthermore, it will take Years before this type of opportunity can present itself again, it is not even sure whether youths can have this type of opportunity anymore, because any opportunity lost can never be regain, the lesson to learn from this is always have plan B in stock if your plan A seems mot working out.
So sad!
